Ballet Shoes

23. května 2011 v 11:08 Denní věštec
Ballet Shoes was Emma's first foray into acting outside the world of Harry Potter. The drama which was directed by Sandra Goldbacher, was made by the BBC and broadcast in December 2007. The story is set in the 1930s and focuses on three orphan girls Pauline Fossil (Emma), Petrova Fossil (Yasmin Paige) and Posy Fossil (Lucy Boynton) who are adopted by an eccentric explorer Great Uncle Matthew played by Richard Griffith. When their Great Uncle disappears off exploring the girls and his niece Sylvia (Emilia Fox) are left to fend for themselves, but despite their struggles girls are determined to follow their dreams and Pauline yearns to become an actress. "I loved making Ballet Shoes. It was so refreshing to work on a production outside of Harry Potter and a great learning experience. The days were long and everything seems to race along with such pace, but it was a very intimate production and I enjoyed every minute" explains Emma. The drama also stars Victoria Wood as Nana. http://www.emmawatson.com/

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (part 1)

22. května 2011 v 19:20 Harry Potter a Relikvie smrti
HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 1
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, the penultimate film in the franchise, is the third Harry Potter film to be directed by David Yates. The existing cast is joined by Bill Nighy as the new Minister of Magic Rufus Scrimgeour and Rhys Ifans as Xenophilius Lovegood (Luna's father) and of course Ralph Fiennes who plays Lord Voldemort.
Following Dumbledore's death, Voldemort has completed his ascension to power and gained control of the Ministry of Magic. The plot of the seventh film in the series sees Harry, Hermione and Ron on the run from Lord Voldemort and his henchmen. They must sever all ties with home - and Hogwarts - to find and destroy Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes, the only means of destroying the Dark Lord.
While on this journey, the trio comes across a strange symbol, which they learn represents the mythical Deathly Hallows. The Hallows are revealed to be three sacred objects: the Resurrection Stone, a stone with the power to recall the dead to the world of the living; the Elder Wand, an unbeatable wand; and an infallible Invisibility Cloak, the significance of which will surely be revealed in the eighth and final instalment of the Harry Potter series.
Emma said of the task facing the three friends in this film: "It's challenging in every way - physically, emotionally. They're away from home. They're isolated, they don't have any news. They don't know what they're doing. They're pulling at shreds. Dumbledore has hardly left them anything to go on."

People Tree 2011

22. května 2011 v 19:15 Denní věštec
Emma has collaborated with People Tree on a new collection for the fair trade brand for Spring/Summer 2011.
This second collection has a slightly different feel to Emma's previous summer collection and includes fitted dresses, blazers, t-shirts, skirts, and harem pants.
Speaking about the new line, Emma said:
"I designed this collection last year after I'd started university in the US. Safia, People Tree's Founder, and Misato, People Tree's designer, came out to work with me in Rhode Island. Together we decided on all the colours, fabrics, shapes and craft skills. Most of all, we took care to design a really wearable collection that truly celebrates the traditional skills of People Tree's Fair Trade groups around the world."
Following the initial design stage, Emma continued to work closely with People Tree during the following months, looking at samples whenever she was back in the UK and trying on each and every piece to get the fits just as she wanted them to be.
In July 2010, Emma visited Bangladesh to see the clothing for the collection being made and to meet the people making it and saw firsthand the difference fair trade makes to the garment workers. Of the trip Emma said:
"It was an incredible and life-changing experience - I really wish everyone had the chance to see the difference Fair Trade makes with their own eyes! Fair Trade fashion comes from the villages - and provides a real alternative to working in a garment factory and the harsh environment of living in a slum. Fair Trade fashion is often completely handmade - and made of 100% natural and organic cotton - and it's a small miracle that we as consumers can participate in a process that is keeping skills and communities alive and helping them to prosper."
Emma was interviewed by Safia Minney while in Bangladesh and you can read the full interview on the http://www.peopletree.co.uk/ site.
As before, Emma is donating all royalties made from the collection to the People Tree Foundation, an independent charity working alongside People Tree, the Fair Trade company. The aim of the foundation is to bring the benefits of Fair Trade to an even greater number of farmers and artisans through scaling up training, technical support and environmental initiatives, and through raising awareness and campaigning for fair and sustainable fashion.
The collection is on sale in various outlets in Europe and Japan and pieces can be ordered from www.peopletreeyouth.com which also ships to the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. You can see a selection of the items modelled by Emma in the Slideshow.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

21. května 2011 v 19:05 Harry Potter a Princ dvojí krve
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is once again directed by David Yates and reunites the existing cast with the welcome addition of British actor Jim Broadbent who plays the avuncular Horace Slughorn.
Retired teacher Slughorn had previously taught a young Tom Riddle (Voldemort) and thus Dumbledore persuades him to return to teach again at Hogwarts in the hope that he will reveal the secrets he may have inadvertently imparted.
Love is also very much in the air as teenage hormones abound. Ron finds himself a girlfriend in the form of the giggly Lavender Brown (Jessie Cave) and Harry and Ginny become increasingly drawn to each other. Meanwhile, Hermione incensed with jealousy at Ron's betrayal, encourages the affections of Cormac McLaggen (Freddie Stroma) and Ron finally begins to realise that she is his true love.
"This was such a fun film to make. Everyone is aware that Ron and Hermione have feelings for each other, but that they won't admit it and we really played on this. Hermione is heart broken when Ron starts to date Lavender and it was great to be able to finally reveal Hermione's more sensitive and vulnerable side" Emma explains.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

20. května 2011 v 8:47 Harry Potter a Fénixův řád
The fifth film in the series welcomed another British director David Yates. He was to remain with the franchise going on to direct the sixth film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the final chapter Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix finally sees Hermione, Harry and Ron begin to fight back as their beloved Hogwarts falls increasingly under the control of the Ministry of Magic and the new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor Dolores Umbridge, superbly played by Imelda Staunton.
Knowing that dark forces are amassing, the trio organise themselves and fellow students into the DA (Dumbledore's Army) and in secret begin to practice practical magic and self defence.
"Order of Phoenix is a real turning point for Hermione and her friends as they finally begin to take a stance and organise themselves. I love the way Hermione develops in this film. She is the one who instigates Dumbledore's Army and she is so strong and fearless throughout even when finally battling with Bellatrix and the Death Eaters" Emma says.
The film also stars Helena Bonham-Carter as Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange, cousin to Sirius Black and Voldemort's most dedicated supporter.

Rozhovor s Danielem Radcliffem

20. května 2011 v 8:44 Denní věštec
V novém článku od Time Magazine odpovídá Daniel Radcliffe na deset otázek, které mu položilo deset fanoušků Harryho Pottera:

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

11. května 2011 v 16:17 Harry Potter a Ohnivý pohár
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was the first time the series welcomed a British director as Mike Newell joined the team.
The film sees the characters truly become teenagers as hormones and emotions fly and for the first time Hermione and Ron begin to realise they have feelings for each other deeper than just those of friends.
And of course one of the greatest scenes in the film is the Yule Ball where we see Hermione finally take centre stage as she enters the crowded hall in a beautiful dress on the arm of Viktor Krum, much to the chagrin of Ron.
" That dress! I felt such pressure, I cannot even begin to tell you. This was Hermione's big reveal where she goes from being perceived as just bookish and nerdy to being beautiful. It's the moment I suppose when Ron finally sees what he's missing. But, I remember being terrified I'd fall down the stairs, everyone was watching me!" Emma exclaims.
The film follows the fortunes of Harry, Ron and Hermione as they go head to head with the Durmstrang boys and the Beau Batton girls in the Tri-wizard Tournament. The film also features a breathtaking scene as Hermione and other characters are seen to be tethered deep within the murky depths of the river, thankfully all achieved with prosthetic doubles. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire also welcomed young actor Robert Pattinson who played the role of Cedric Diggory. Sadly his character was not to survive, but this was not to be the end of his career!

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

11. května 2011 v 16:16 Harry Potter a Vězeň z Azkabanu
The third film in the series Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban saw a change of director as Alfonso Cuaron took the helm.
The film saw a major change in many aspects, not least the look and the feel of the world as Cuaron introduced costume designer Jany Temime and together they gave the costumes and characters a more contemporary look and feel with jeans, zips and trainers.
The actors and the characters they were portraying had become teenagers and the director wanted to convey this transformation. Indeed Cuaron struck a very close relationship with the young actress and gave her a confidence in her ability she still remembers fondly to this day.
"Prisoner of Azkaban remains my favourite film by far, I think largely because of Alfonso. He believed in me and pushed me and I think this was the first time I was really able to feel the emotion of the character. I was able to look at Hermione and see her strengths and her passion and not just her love of books and rules. I think this was when I really fell in love with the character and that was all because of Alfonso" Emma recalls.
The film also welcomed Michael Gambon who was to play the role of Professor Albus Dumbledore for the rest of the series and Gary Oldman who was to play the misunderstood Sirius Black.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

11. května 2011 v 16:14 Harry Potter a Tajemná komnata
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was the second film in the series, again directed by Christopher Columbus and produced by David Heyman who went to go on to produce all the films.
The film follows Harry, Ron and Hermione as they endeavour to discover who is the 'Heir of Slytherin', the person threatening to kill all those born of non-magical parents. Hermione is Muggle-born (meaning that neither parent is a wizard) and thus is in great danger. Eventually, their trail leads them to Tom Riddle's diary and a very large snake called the Basilisk. We find out as towards the end of the series, that the diary also holds greater significance.
"This was my second film and by now Leavesden Studios and the people there had become like a second family. I remember being adamant that I wasn't like Hermione with her tweed skirts and bushy hair. But, as I grew older I realised she was the greatest role model a girl could have" Emma reflects.
The film also welcomed renowned British actor Kenneth Branagh who played the glorious character of the new Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor, Gilderoy Lockhart. He was joined by Jason Isaacs playing the role of Lucius Malfoy and Richard Harris who sadly was to play the role of Professor Dumbledore for the last time.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

11. května 2011 v 16:11 Harry Potter a Kámen mudrců
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was the first in a series of what would become eight films based upon J.K. Rowling's best-selling book about a young boy wizard and his two best friends.
Little did nine year old Emma Watson know that this was to become the most successful film franchise of all time and she the most famous and revered young actress in the world when she first auditioned for the role of bookish Hermione Granger. In the Autumn of 2000 a then ten year old Emma Watson picked her up wand for the first time as director Christopher Columbus shouted "action".... and the rest as they say is history.
"Looking back I can't quite believe I had the confidence at such a young age to put myself forward, but I remember wanting this role so badly. My first day on set was in Yorkshire, filming the very last scene with Dan and Rupert and the Hogwarts Express and Robbie Coltrane dressed as Hagrid. It all seems so long ago now" says Emma.
The film also co-starred 11 year old Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), 12 year old Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy). The children soon got to grips with their characters, a mountain troll, a giant chess set and a three headed dog, not to mention one very sinister Potions Professor superbly portrayed by actor Alan Rickman. Other notable performances include Maggie Smith as Professor McGonagall, Zoe Wanamaker as Professor Hooch and Ian Hart as Professor Quirrell, the very first Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor.

Rozhovor s Michaelem Gambonem

11. května 2011 v 13:56 Denní věštec

Michael Gambon mluví o Brumbálově smrti

Is Harry Potter a life sentence?
No I like Harry Potter. I died in the sixth one.

How did you find out that you died?
Erm, I think I read it in the paper. I read I'd died. It was such a shock. I thought, Jesus Christ.

Have you read the books?
I just read the scripts. I know people read the whole book but then you get cross about what's missing. A lot of actors get upset that their parts are a bit smaller.

To what extent did you have to inherit Richard Harris's performance?
No one ever spoke to me about it. Not a word. On the first film I did which was directed by Alfonso Cuaron I walked in there and I'm naturally Irish and my first accent is Irish, I will speak Irish with my parents, and I played just a slight touch of Trinity College Dublin. That light lilt. I did that and Alfonso said, "What's the accent here?" I said, "Irish." He said, "That's OK." And no one's ever mentioned it. I'm a little bit more camp, I think, a bit lighter. A bit more ethereal.

Rozhovor s Emmou Thompson

9. května 2011 v 19:48 Denní věštec
Emma Thompson o Harry Potterovi a Relikviích smrti

V novém rozhovoru, promluvila herečka Emma Thompson o své malé roli profesorky Sibylly Trelawneyové v Harry Potterovi a Relikviích smrti (část II.).

"Prakticky i celá moje rodina. Moje sestra právě skončila. Nemůžu si vzpomenout na jméno její postavy, ale myslím, že to byla podstatně významná úloha."

"Mám její fotku s Danielem jak ji někde táhne, ale nevím co dělali, protože jsem to ještě neviděla."
